HOW TO HOLD A CRICKET BAT
The first and foremost important thing you need to learn in batting is how to hold a bat. The way you hold the bat has a significant influence on your batting style and performance.
If you are a person who doesn't know how to hold a bat then batting will be a nightmare for you. Without knowing proper batting grip you cannot play the shots you wish to play. Knowing the batting grip is important to perform even if you are playing with your friends for fun.
Initially, it will be very difficult for you to follow the batting grip but if you have mastered how to hold a bat then everything else will become much simpler and the important thing to notice is that you will be able to play shots to any part of the ground especially if you are facing difficulties in playing shots to the offside. Having a good batting grip will help you a lot to improve your offside shots.
ORTHODOX GRIP OR THE V-GRIP
HOW TO HOLD THE V GRIP?
1) lay down your bat on the ground with the face of the bat facing the ground and the handle of the bat pointing your feet.
2)Next step is to form a V shape between your thumb and index finger in both hands
3)If you are a right-handed batsman next step is to make the thumb of your left hand touch the bottom joint of your right-hand thumb
4)You should place both hands on the handle of the bat like the above described and wrap your hands on the handle and pick the bat.
2) BRADMAN'S GRIP
It was the grip used by the iconic player Don Bradman. Even though he was a legend the no. of players who used this style is very few.
HOW TO HOLD THE GRIP
1)Hold the bat in V-grip
2)Rotate your bottom hand so it will go underneath the bat. Then rotate your top hand slightly so your wrist is now directly behind the handle of the bat
