Even though there are 11 players in a team only 9 field positions can be occupied by the team at a time. one player in the remaining two players will be the wicketkeeper and the other one will be the bowler.

Before knowing the fielding positions you must know some basic terms used in cricket.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Even though there are around 30 fielding positions in cricket, you only need to understand and study the 15 most important positions at the beginning because if you try to study and remember everything in a single go, you will probably forget everything.

Sometimes you might not be able to remember even the 15 most important fielding positions so during such circumstances you should try to learn 5 or 6 fielding positions in a week and within 1 or 2 months you will be able to learn all. The best way to never forget these names is to use them more often when playing and talking about cricket.
